Township Offices Now Open Regular Hours:

Township Offices are now open to the public 8:30am - 4:30pm. All visitors are required wear a mask or covering over mouth/nose to enter the building. Building Department hours are 10:00am - 2:00pm Monday - Thursday Parks & Recreation offices are open 9:00am - 12:00pm and 1:00pm - 5:00pm. The Library begins curbside pickup Monday, June 15

ATTENTION:  OAKLAND COUNTY IS WAIVING THE DELINQUENT FEE FOR THE DOG LICENSES THROUGH 2020.  THE FEE FOR A SPAYED/NEUTERED DOG WILL BE $10.50 AND FOR A MALE/FEMALE DOG $18.00 THROUGH  THE END OF THE YEAR.  SENIOR DISCOUNT IS AVAILABLE.  THREE-YEAR LICENSES ARE AVAILABLE FOR DOGS WHOSE RABIES VACCINATION IS VALID THROUGH 2022.

Licenses can be purchased through the mail, in person at the Animal Shelter and Pet Adoption Center or online. Dogs require a license in Oakland County in the following situations:

  • Acquiring a new dog
  • Dog becomes four months old
  • Becoming a Michigan resident
  • Expiration of prior license (All licenses are valid for a calendar year and expire on 12/31)

If you are unsure if your license is still valid, check the year on your license. For example, a 2019 license would expire 12/31/2019.

In order to purchase a license, a valid rabies certificate must be presented. Dogs are required to wear the license at all times. Cats do not require a license.
